Sad news on NovaBiotics' co-founder and first Chairman

Category: Press Releases

It is with much sadness that we today announce the death of John Pool, NovaBiotics co-founder and first Chairman.  John passed away on September 8th 2015 from complications related to a recently diagnosed cancer.

John had a long and diverse career in healthcare.  His forte latterly was in successfully implementing the start up process for life science companies - kick-starting the commercial strategy for technologies in which he spotted something “special”.   John utilised his extensive network and contacts to this end for a number of companies including NovaBiotics, to which he was first introduced in 2002 before subsequently coming on board as the Company’s Chairman in 2004.

Deborah O ‘Neil, NovaBiotics CEO with whom John founded NovaBiotics said: “John was responsible for bringing together all the necessary pieces and players required to launch NovaBiotics.  His positive input particularly in the early days will never be forgotten. He will be missed in many ways not least for his readiness to smile and his willingness to give help and advice”.

Our thoughts and sincere sympathies are with John’s wife Wendy, his daughters, grandchildren and his wider circle of family and friends at this time.
